begin (again) now

At the end of last term, a student from years ago reappeared. After class he said, “Thank you for still being here.”

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching yoga in the same space where I have been and continue to be a student. It’s a joy to see some of the same students year after year. And I’m always happy to see students return when life has taken them elsewhere.

What brings us to yoga may not be what keeps us practicing. The demands of life may make practice seem impossible at times. No matter how many times we may falter in our commitment to practice, what matters is that we return.

Whether you’ve taken a two week break during the holidays or a much longer break (for whatever reason), isn’t it time return to your yoga practice? Let the warmth of your practice carry you through the darkness of winter.

Starting this coming week, I’ll be offering two hybrid classes on Tuesday mornings—a Level 1 at 9:00 and a Level 2 at 11:00. You can attend these classes in person, online or asynchronously from the recording. I’ll also be adding a Level 3 class on Wednesdays at noon (online). My other in-person classes will continue at Jewel Yoga, where you can register for the winter term or drop-in for a single class.

The yoga retreat in Mexico is almost full. If you’ve been thinking about joining me and Nina Pileggi for this week-long yoga retreat in April, sign up now!

I hope to see you again in the coming weeks. It’s never too late to begin again.
